"The storm raged outside, lightning flashing and thunder crashing in the distance. The old house creaked and groaned under the force of the wind, as if it were alive. Inside, the flickering light from the fireplace barely cut through the heavy darkness. She sat near the hearth, her face pale and tense, her hands clutching the armrest. Every now and then, she would glance nervously at the window, her eyes wide with fear."
