Graph C correctly represents the motion of the object.

When the object is thrown vertically upward, it has an initial positive (upward) velocity. Due to the gravitational acceleration -g (which acts downward), the object's velocity decreases at a constant rate.

 

At the maximum - height, the velocity of the object is v = 0. After reaching the maximum - height, the object starts to fall back downwards. The velocity then becomes negative (downward) and increases in magnitude (in the negative direction) at a constant rate (because the acceleration is still –g)

 

In graph C, the velocity starts positive, then decreases to zero (reaching the maximum - height), and then becomes negative and increases in magnitude. This graph correctly represents the motion of an object thrown vertically upward.
