Sex-linked traits are traits that are associated with genes located on the sex chromosomes (X or Y).
In humans, the X chromosome carries many more genes than the Y chromosome.
Traits such as red-green color blindness are more common in males because they only have one X chromosome, so a mutation in the X chromosome will express the trait.
Females, with two X chromosomes, are less likely to express the trait unless both X chromosomes carry the mutation.
