We can determine if the graph represents a function by applying the vertical line test.

Vertical Line Test: Imagine drawing vertical lines through various points on the graph.  

1.If any vertical line intersects the graph at more than one point, then the graph does not represent a function.  

2.If the vertical line intersects the graph at exactly one point wherever it touches the graph, then the graph represents a function.
