Nitrogen is "fixed" into a usable form for plants D.through the action of bacteria and lightning.

Here's how it works:

1.Bacteria: Certain bacteria, including Rhizobium (which forms a symbiotic relationship with leguminous plants) and free-living bacteria in the soil, can convert atmospheric nitrogen (N₂) into ammonia (NH₃) or other nitrogen compounds. This process is known as biological nitrogen fixation. The bacteria have an enzyme called nitrogenase that facilitates this conversion.
