When solving an equation, the objective is to determine the value(s) of the variable that make the equation true. To achieve this, we want to isolate the variable on one side of the equation. By performing a series of algebraic manipulations and operations, we aim to simplify the equation and rearrange terms so that the variable is by itself on one side of the equation.
