As the vehicle population continues to grow faster than the human population, the challenge of sharing the limited street and intersection space grows increasingly difficult. In some cases, cities have removed lanes intended for cars and other motorized vehicles in favor of bike lanes to accommodate the changing attitude of "pedestrians and bikes first, cars second."
